Cypripedium Arietinum, located in Isle Royale National Park – Lake Superior
Tiny and rare, these little orchids were a wonderful treat to see on my last backpacking trip to Isle Royale. Each flower also seemed to have it’s own little personality that I hoped to capture that in this painting. Look for the the small beauties on the trail or you’ll miss them!

Description
The blooms of this tiny flower are only 1-2” in size. They are so small that they are easy to miss! They are fabulously dressed in delicate fuzzy beards and burgundy stripes. Seeing these fascinating little flowers was a gift that I will always remember from our trip and I hope you enjoy them too!
