Afternoon glow on the Superior Hiking Trail, with a little peek through the birch trees to Carlton Peak. I remember this section of trail, with its long stretches through birch and aspen, and spots where you might need to climb with your hands…
A perfect gift for that trail-lovin’ hiker in your life or a little treat for yourself!
Size 8 x 10
The Superior Hiking Trail is a 310 mile footpath in Minnesota, along Lake Superior that is one of my very favorite places to be! It is especially beautiful in the Fall when the leaves are turning and again in the Spring when the leaves are ‘brand new green’ and everything is bursting back to life!
This painting captures the warm afternoon glow of the trail, while I was on a long hike on the section through Temperance River State Park, peeking through the trees before the climb up to Carlton Peak. The peak overlooks the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior and is one of the finest views in the Northland.
